Grace Dooney and Eva Ronberg
Grace Dooney and Eva Ronberg are two young Canoe Slalom athletes, who are members of the NZ Development Canoe Slalom Squad.
They live in Hawkes Bay and have limited access to Whitewater which makes training more difficult.
Their goal is to represent New Zealand at International Competitions, and the first step is to earn a spot in the National Performance Squad.
When we first met their long-term goal was to compete at the Canoe Slalom Junior Worlds, which was set to be held in Auckland 2021, but with the cancellation of this International event due to COVID-19, they were forced to revaluate.
They turned their focus to Canoe Slalom Junior Worlds 2022, in Ivera, Italy. Which will require immense training, travelling and preparation. Their #poweredbyPinkLadyapples sponsorship will support them in their efforts to achieve this goal through more water training time, travel costs, and access to quality coaching.
Flaxmere Pony Club ODE
The Flaxmere Pony club’s One Day Event is their principal fund-raising event of the year, and a permanent fixture on the Hawke’s Bay Eventing Calendar.
In a time where many events both international & domestic have been cancelled, the ODE will provide our kiwi riders a much needed chance to compete amongst some of our country’s best.
